Green Certificates are an additional benefit of producing green power and can be obtained and trade off whenever producing renewable energy and like this may be claimed by Micro Hydros Producers.

- Can be traded across country boundaries
- Overcome physical electric transfer restrictions
- Supply and demand of RE don’t have to occur at the same time
Example: A 5kW Micro-Hydro can produce 21 MWh/year, or more.
